The international exhibition MULTIMATION - Metamorfosis#1 takes place during ANIMFEST in Athens, 16 - 22 March 2017. The exhibition shows live multimedia art performances that expand the field of animation, focusing on flow and movement in public space and environment, connecting the digital world with the body via contemporary multimedia art performances. Venues of the exhibition are the public space of Athens and the indoor venues Vryssaki Art Gallery, Romantso Arts Center, Zeon Cultural Center. the garden of the Numismatic Museum and Vrilissia Municipal Center, with artists from UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Canada, Cyprus and Greece.

 

Curator: Geert Vermeire (Belgium)

Artist, curator and writer with as main field an artistic practice focused on the performative, mixed reality and social practices, with the body in public space, community involvement and ethical involvement of cultural action as key elements. His activities involve immersive formats of arts, and an interdisciplinary and artistic research involving walking. He engages in creative collaborations with choreographers, sound artists, new media artists, architects and writers. Since 2010 part of the noTours team, exploring augmented aurality within an international collective of developers and sound artists. Co-founder of Akoo-o, an international group of artists and researchers (Belgium, Greece and UK) that use sound and mobility as vehicles of expression and social inquiry. Co-founder of the Urban Emptiness Network, an international network of researchers and artists investigating the qualities of silence and emptiness throught connected actions in various cities as Athens, Brussels, Edinburgh, New York and in Nicosia.
